Raindance winners announced

Ben Wheatley’s Down Terrace has won Best UK Feature at the 17th Raindance Film Festival while Patxi Amézcua’s 25 Kilates [+see also:

(Spain) and David Lee Miller’s My Suicide (USA) shared the Best International Feature Award.

Mark Price’s Colin (UK), a zombie film made for just £45, won Best Micro Budget, Asiel Norton’s Redland (USA) Best Debut and Tokachi Tsuchiya’s A Normal Life Please (Japan) Best Documentary.

George Milton’s Infidel won Best UK Short while Brian O’Malley and Brian Durnin’s Of Best Intentions (Ireland) won Best International Short. Three features and three shorts will be selected for theatrical distribution in the UK in March 2010. Winning films will be announced in December and will receive a 5-city UK theatrical release through Apollo Cinema chain.

Attendance for the festival, which is based in the London Apollo Cinema, showed an 83.4% increase over last year.
