Lights Out is written by Gobert, who made a name for himself directing documentaries for Arte and TV series for France 2 (Coeur Océan and Age Sensible).

The plot opens in March 1992, in a small town near Paris. At a party one evening, some teenagers discover a body, apparently lifeless, buried in the forest undergrowth.

Lights Out is produced by Xavier Rigault and Marc-Antoine Robert (Producer on The Move 2008 - see interview) for 2.4.7. Films for around €3.5m. The budget includes €400,000 in backing from the Ile-de-France region, where the entire seven-week shoot is taking place. Diaphana will handle French distribution.
