2.4.7. Films picks up IFCIC Prize

Awarded by the Institute for Film and Cultural Industry Financing to a young independent production company with no more than five films to its name, the IFCIC Prize for 2009 went to 2.4.7. Films. The company follows in the footsteps of previous prize-winners Films du Poisson (2008), La Mouche du Coche (2007), Elia Films (2006), Les Productions du Trésor (2005) and TS Productions (2004).

Headed by Xavier Rigault and Marc-Antoine Robert (Producer on The Move 2008 - see interview), 2.4.7. Films got off to a sensational start in production with Marjane Satrapi and Vincent Paronnaud’s Persepolis [+see also:

(“A Tiered Wedding Cake”) by Denys Granier-Deferre (see news), will be launched in theatres in spring 2010 by Diaphana. 2.4.7. Films is currently shooting Fabrice Gobert’s thriller Love Like Blood (see news).

IFCIC is an organisation that helps cultural businesses to gain access to credit. Thanks to funds granted by the authorities (in particular the National Film and Moving Image Centre (CNC)), IFCIC guarantees the bank credits allocated to producers of cinematic and audiovisual works, technical industries, movie theatre exhibitors, and companies in the cultural sector.

In 2008, IFCIC guaranteed over €260m in new credits for producers and distributors.
