film profile] lead the race for Romania’s top film honours, the Gopo Awards, with 11 and 10 nominations, respectively.

The Happiest Girl is vying for Best Film, Director, Screenplay (Jude and Augustina Stanciu) and Actress (Andreea Boşneag), among other categories, while Police, Adjective’s nominations include the categories Best Film, Director, Actor (Dragoş Bucur), Screenplay (Porumboiu) and Cinematography (Marius Panduru).

The Gopo awards, named after Romanian Palm d’Or winning director Ion Popescu Gopo, are organised by Romanian Film Promotion with Babel Communications and the National Centre for Cinema. The ceremony will take place in Bucharest on March 29.
