Steinbichler shoots Das Blaue vom Himmel
Hans Steinbichler, the acclaimed director of Hierankl - A Birthday to Remember and Winter Journey [+see also:

film profile], has started shooting in Munich on his new film, Das Blaue vom Himmel ("The Blue of the Sky"), which is set between the 1930s and 1990s.
The film centres on Marga (Hannelore Elsner), who is starting to lose her memory of the present while older recollections come back to life, and her daughter Sofia (Juliane Köhler). Through these memories, we get to know the young Marga (Karoline Herfurth), who is very different from the ageing woman of today.

After Munich, shooting will relocate to Wuppertal, Heiligendamm, Berlin and the Latvian capital of Riga, and is expected to wrap up at the end of April. Produced by Uli Aselmann for die film gmbh, Das Blaue vom Himmel will be released domestically in spring 2011 by NFP.
