film profile] came away empty-handed from the 82nd Academy Awards ceremony, the French film industry was honoured last night in Los Angeles for the Best Animated Short Film Oscar went to Logorama.
Directed by the H5 collective (François Alaux, Hervé de Crécy, Ludovic Houplain), the 16-minute film is set in a City of Angels inundated with advertising billboards. It was produced by Nicolas Schmerkin for Autour de Minuit Productions, in co-production with H5, Addict, Arcadi (Regional Action for Artistic Creation and Distribution in Île-de-France) and Mikros Images.
Unveiled in competition in last year’s Cannes Critics’ Week, Logorama has screened at numerous international festivals, including at Sundance, in Brussels, Montreal, Clermont-Ferrand, Stockholm, Bilbao, Seoul, Sidney, Gyor, Gijon, Espinho, Tübingen and San Francisco.
