The Woman with the 5 Elephants forges ahead

by

A few days after receiving the Quartz for Best Documentary at the Swiss Film Awards (see news), The Woman with the 5 Elephants was nominated for a Lola German Film Award, to be presented on April 23 in Berlin.

Vadim Jendreyko’s German co-production focuses on Dostoevsky translator Swetlana Geier, who works with expert precision, as attentive to the rhythm of the language as she is to the meaning of the words. The film has also proved popular with audiences: after 17 weeks on release in German-speaking Switzerland, it has already garnered 19,000 admissions. The title was also launched in January in German theatres.
