film profile]) star in the film.
Co-written by Ed Scates and Vitoria, the film, billed as “The Dirty Dozen meets Tigerland”, is based on the true story of the formation of Ian Fleming’s 30 Commando, the influence for the elite SAS British military unit.
Age Of Heroes is the first in a trilogy of war Films – Age Of Honour and Age Of Glory being the other two – from producer Lex Lutzus’ Neon Park, in collaboration with Nick O’Hagan’s Giant Films and Cinedome.
Metrodome are set to distribute in the UK as well as being co-producers on the film, while Matador Pictures is financing with support from Norway’s National Film Institute and fund Film Kraft, who are backing the project through the film’s Norwegian producing partners, Moskus Films. Metrodome CEO Peter Urie will serve as executive producer. ContentFilm has worldwide rights excluding the UK and Scandinavia.
Lutzus said, “War seems to be growing as a genre in film, with the rising popularity of computer games such as Call of Duty widening the demography of the audience.”
ContentFilm President Jamie Carmichael said, “We’re extremely excited to be working with Adrian, Lex and Nick on this action franchise. There is tremendous international interest in Special Forces and to be able to combine that with a fabulous script, production team and cast makes for a very potent mix.”
