Elmo Movieworld distributes Kinowelt’s films
Ferdinand Morawetz, who has been managing director of Walt Disney in Austria since 1992, has announced the creation of Elmo Movieworld Filmverleih, which will distribute German company Kinowelt’s films in Austria. Until the new company’s structure has been put in place, they will continue to be launched by Walt Disney, where Morawetz will keep his position until the end of the year.
Morawetz, who is considered a film industry expert, has been working at Walt Disney since 1988 and owns two movie theatres. He is delighted at this collaboration with Kinowelt, which is currently part of the StudioCanal Group and he believes is destined to become one of the most important distributors in German-speaking countries.
Kalle Friz of Kinowelt, who recognises Morawetz’s "flair" for new trends and insists he has led some of the "best launch campaigns of recent years", describes this collaboration as a "breath of fresh air for our films in Austria".
