Koch’s debut feature Picco looks to be a particularly hard-hitting film, bordering on genre cinema and works exploring social issues. Based on real-life events and set in a prison for young offenders where the law of the strongest prevails, the film is uncompromising in its focus on the victims of the system in its broadest sense.

At the Cannes Film Market, Laurent Danielou and Sebastien Chesneau’s team will also screen French documentary The Game of Death by Thomas Bornot, Alain-Michel Blanc and Gilles Amado. Moreover, they will continue pre-sales, which got off to a triumphant start at Berlin, for Julie Delpy’s new project 2 Days in New York, whose shoot will kick off in October.

The line-up also includes two films in post-production (Antoine Blossier’s French horror feature Prey and US director Jaffe Zinn’s Magic Valley); and John Sayles’s Amigo, in production.
