Aksel Hennie takes lead in Headhunters

Norwegian star actor Aksel Hennie (Max Manus [+see also:

) will play the lead role in the thriller Headhunters, directed by Morten Tyldum (Varg Veum).

The film is a screen adaptation of the eponymous best-selling novel by crime writer Jo Nesbø. Hennie will play the charming villain Roger Brown who seems to have it all: he is Norway’s most successful headhunter and married to beautiful gallery owner Diana. However, he is also playing a dangerous game of art theft.

The €3.2m film is produced by Friland Film’s Asne Vatn – this year’s Norwegian Producer on the Move – in co-production with Sweden’s Yellow Bird Production, producers on the Millennium films. Nordisk Film will handle Scandinavian distribution. Shooting is set to start in August.

Hennie is currently shooting in Norway Age of Heroes, a WW2 drama by Adrian Vitoria produced in the UK by Neon Park, Giant Films and Cinedome, in co-production with Norway’s Moskus Film.
