(“A Song For You”), which according to Herbert Simone Paragnani is an ambitious mix of musical, “what if” comedy and romantic comedy.

"I wanted to mix many genres, even fantasy, for a film that takes its cue from American college movies, but also harkens back to our musicarelli", said Paragnani, who is making his feature debut after numerous TV projects, first as a scriptwriter then behind the camera (including the pilot of the series Donne assassine).

The film’s star, among a cast of emerging names chosen for their singing and musical talents, is Emanuele Bosi (Questo piccolo grande amore [+see also:

), who plays David, the absent-minded, self-assured front man of the coolest band in school. "He’s a bastard, but in the end we find out he’s an incurable romantic,” says Bosi.

At the end of a terrible day, in which he fails his high school leaving exam and loses the trust of his friends the love of his girlfriend (Michela Quattrociocche, whose career was launched by Moccia’s teen movie machine), David will be offered the chance to relive the last 24 hours, in an attempt to change his destiny.

Seems easy enough, yet the second time around is less predictable than expected, due also to Lisa (Agnese Claisse, channeling Noomi Rapace), a picked-upon schoolmate with whom David discovers he shares more than just the a love of music.

Produced by Cattleya with MTV Italia, Una canzone per te will be released by Universal on May 28 on 222 screens.
