TrustNordisk strikes further deals on Bier and von Trier

TrustNordisk has announced a new series of deals closed after the Cannes Film Festival on Susanne Bier’s In a Better World [+see also:

film profile] and Lars von Trier’s Melancholia, both Zentropa productions.
In a Better World was sold to Hong Kong (First Distributors), Colombia & Central America (Cineplex), Lithuania (Scanorama), South Korea (Cinus) and Japan (Longride). Previous deals were closed with the US (Sony Pictures Classics), Germany (Universum), Switzerland (Frenetic) and Brazil (California Filmes). Over 30 territories have now acquired the family drama starring Mikael Persbrandt, Trine Dyrholm and Ulrich Thomsen. The Danish release is set for August 26.
Von Trier’s Melancholia was sold to Switzerland (Frenetic), Italy (BIM BIM Distribuzione), Thailand (IPA), Germany and Austria (Concorde). The stellar cast of von Trier’s disaster movie includes Kirsten Dunst, Charlotte Rampling, Stellan Skarsgård and John Hurt.
TrustNordisk also announced new deals on Juan [+see also:

film profile], Kasper Holten's take on Mozart's Don Giovanni. The Danish/Hungarian co-production was sold to Benelux (Four Corners/Wild Bunch) and Switzerland (Praesens Film). Charlotte Sachs Bostrup’s Danish family film Karla & Jonas has sold to France (NinetySeven) while Norwegian kids movie Ploddy the Police Car sold to Iran (Century 21) and Benelux (Jekino).
