Principal photography, which began Sunday, will take place for five weeks on the Isle of Man and in Scotland from June 27 for Ecosse Films’ romantic comedy The Decoy Bride.

The film features the talents of David Tennant (How to Train Your Dragon, TV’s Dr Who), Kelly McDonald (No Country For Old Men, Gosford Park) and Alice Eve (Sex and the City 2). It is written by Neil Jaworski and comedienne Sally Phillips and is directed by Sheree Folkson (Gypsy Woman).

The story is about the wedding of internationally famous film star Lara (Eve) to British author James (Tennant). When it gets sabotaged by a paparazzo, they decide to relocate the event to the one place where the world’s press won’t find them: the sleepy Island of Hegg, as featured in James’ best-selling novel. Local girl Katie (MacDonald) is hired as a decoy bride to ward off the press.

Robert Bernstein and Douglas Rae of Ecosse Films and Paul Ritchie are the producers with CinemaNX distributing in the UK and HanWay Films selling internationally. The film also has investment from Scottish Screen.
