The NOK 14.2m (€1.8m) film is co-produced by Trier’s new outfit Don’t Look Now – set up with Vogt and former Moland Film producer Hans-Jørgen Osnes – with Denmark’s Nimbus Film. Sandrew Metronome will release it in Norway on August 31, 2011.

Trier and Vogt have also finished writing their first English-language film, Louder than Bombs, set to go into production in 2011.

Truth and Consequence (Domen over död man) to be directed by legendary Swedish filmmaker Jan Troell, will be produced by Filmlance International in Sweden with Norway’s Maipo and Denmark’s Final Cut. The NOK36m (€4.5m) film is based on the true story of Swedish journalist Torgny Segerstedt who became famous during WWII for standing up to the Nazis. Filming will start on August 16. Nordisk Film will release it in Norway in June 2012.

The NFI also supported the as yet untitled second feature film by Zaman, a Norwegian director of Kurdish origin who directed the award-winning short films Bawke(2005) and Winterland. His new project is the story of 18 year-old Nermin from Iraqi Kurdistan who lives with her mother and 16-year-old brother Soran. When she runs away from her home to escape an arranged marriage, her brother is sent to get her back to save the honour of their family.
