ANICA to meet with film industry on Lido

From September 1-11, ANICA (National Cinema Audiovisual and Multimedia Association) is organizing ANICAIncontra, to take place within Digital Expo, an area that the Venice Film Festival is this year dedicating to film industry technology the activities.

The initiative is part of a long-term agreement between ANICA and the Venice Biennale, of industry events, as announced at a press conference by Biennale president Paolo Baratta.

Stationed on the first floor of the Lido’s Hotel Excelsior, ANICAIncontra will offer numerous events, organized with support from the Cinema Direction of the Culture Ministry and in collaboration with Fondazione Rossellini, the foremost of which will be three seminars, from September 6-8, dedicated to analyzing foremost aspects of the business of cinema.

The first seminar (September 6) is on exporting Italian Cinema, with a presentation of the results of the first research conducted the subject, in an agreement with the Minister of Economic Development and the Institute for Foreign Commerce (ICE). Speakers include president of ICE, Ambassador Umberto Vattani.

September 7 will see a seminar on the relationship between cinema and finance and strengthening the sector’s industrial culture. Speakers include Director General for Cinema Nicola Borrelli and the heads of the banks BNL-BNP Paribas, Mediocredito Italiano-Intesa San Paolo and Banca Popolare di Vicenza.

The last day’s seminar, an analysis of regional and local support to film activities, will feature, among others, the government members working in culture in the Lazio, Apulia and Veneto regions, and a presentation of a research project to be developed over the coming months.
