Tschirner chooses path of wrongdoing in Offroad
Seven years after The Friend, television director Elmar Fischer is returning to the big screen with his second feature, Offroad. Shooting starts tomorrow and will continue until November 19 in Düsseldorf, Geilenkirchen and Berlin.
Nora Tschirner (Rabbit Without Ears 2 [+see also:

film profile]) plays a young woman who follows the path mapped out for her: having obtained a business qualification, she will soon get married, start a family and take over her father’s factory.
Suddenly, she finds 50 kilos of cocaine in her new jeep and throws herself into the unknown. Described as a romantic comedy, the film is co-scripted by Fischer and Susanne Hertel.
The cast also includes Elyas M’Barek (The Wave [+see also:

film profile]), Max von Pufendorf and Tonio Arango (both seen in Buddenbrooks) and Nele Kiper.
Produced by Claussen+Wöbke+Putz Filmproduktion with backing from TV network ZDF, Offroad will be launched next year by Paramount Pictures Germany and is expected to get a US release.
