Two Danes take off to Berlin

Danish children movies are going to be well represented at the international Berlinale in February next year. Much to his surprise the Danish director Henrik Ruben Gentz just found out that his first feature film En som Hodder with its premier in Denmark 31 January has been chosen to compete in the category of children’s films in Berlin. Gentz had already proved his worth with the short film Bror, min bror winning a price in Berlin as well as being nominated for the Oscar’s.
His first feature film is based on a novel by Bjarne Reuters published in 1998 and tells the story a young boy Hodder living alone with his divorced father. Gentz will be accompanied by another Danish colleague in Berlin for director Pia Bovin is competing with her film Kald mig bare Aksel.
