Two producers at the festival

Dieter Kosslick, the artistic director of the 53rd Berlinale is scheduled to announce the programme at the traditional conference on 28 January. In the meantime, it has emerged that two major Italian producers, will take part in Germany’s premiere film event both with productions and co-productions.

He will also be there as the co-producer of two European films: Jagoda al supermarket by Dusan Milic and starring Branka Katic and Srdjan Todorovic, co-produced with Emir Kusturica, and selected for the non-competitive “Panorama” section, and Alexandra’s Project, a claustrophobic thriller about marriage directed by Australian Rolf de Heer and starring Gare Sweet, Helen Buday and Bogdan Koca, selected for competition.
Italy’s Mauro Berardi will be at the festival to present his latest ensemble film produced for the Cinema of the Present Foundation, Letters from Palestine - scheduled for screening in the Forum.

Italy will also take part in the European Film market with “Focus Italy”, promoted and managed by Anica, Italia Cinema and the Institute for Foreign Trade – ICI, it will host delegations from Istituto Luce, the Turin-Piedmont Film Commission, Cineromacittà, Friuli-Venezia Giulia ed Emilia Romagna, international distributors: Rai Trade, Buskin Film and Minerva Pictures as well as Esse&Bi Cinematografica and the European Film Festival.
