Business gets underway at Rendez-Vous with French Cinema

A total of 450 international distributors and 120 journalists from 29 countries are gathering in Paris today for the 13th Rendez-Vous with French Cinema organised by Unifrance. The four-day event will host a market including screenings of 80 films (half of which are unreleased) and the largest press junket in Europe with the artists behind the French features to be released internationally this year.

Wild Bunch will unveil in world premiere Jérôme Salle’s The Burma Conspiracy, with Tomer Sisley and Sharon Stone in attendance. Vincent Maraval’s team will also show promo-reels and start sales for Virginie Despentes’s Bye Bye Blondie (see news); Christophe Ruggia’s In Turmoil (see news); Delphine Gleize’s The Moon Child (see news); Philippe Garrel’s Un Été Brûlant (“A Burning Hot Summer”, see news); and Maïwenn’s Polisse (see news). The company will also start pre-sales, on the basis of the screenplay, for Cédric Kahn’s Une Vie Meilleure (“A Better Life”, see news).

Films Distribution will present world premieres of Djamshed Usmonov’s My Wife’s Romance (see news); Bernard Jeanjean’s Burning Desire (see news); and Hélène Angel’s No Trespassing.

TF1 International will show ten minutes in 3D of Joann Sfar and Antoine Delesvaux’s The Rabbi’s Cat; as well as Pierre Lacan’s The Law of Violence (see news); and Raphaël Jaculot’s The Night Clerk (see news). Jennifer Devoldère’s Et Soudain, Tout Le Monde Me Manque (“And Suddenly, I Miss Everyone”, see news) also joins a well-stocked line-up (see news).

Finally, Pathé International will screen Dany Boon’s Nothing To Declare [+see also:

and Les Films du Losange will show Marius Holst’s King of Devil’s Island [+see also:

. But all French international sellers will be at the Paris event, including Memento, Pyramide, StudioCanal, Celluloïd Dreams, MK2, EuropaCorp, Kinology, Other Angle Pictures, Umedia, Wide Management, Bac Films, SND, Rezo, Doc & Film, Coproduction Office, Elle Driver and Le Pacte.
