As for 2010, 114 productions received €58.9m in funding through this mechanism, of which 80 were features, 30 documentaries and four animated films. Over half the features were international co-productions. There was also a special emphasis on 3D films, with backing going to titles including the sequel Vicky and the Treasure of the Gods and The Three Musketeers, starring Milla Jovovich and Oscar winner Christoph Waltz.

The DFFF undertakes to cover between 16-20% of production costs for films produced entirely or partly in Germany, for projects with a minimum budget of €1m.
