Sewitsky’s Happy with Sundance Prize

Anne Sewitsky’s directorial debut Happy, Happy [+see also:

has won the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival in the US.

The Norwegian film was one of 14 international titles screening in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition. “Happy, Happy is a film that found us identifying with characters very different from our own lives,” said one of the jurors, Danish director Susanne Bier, while presenting the award.

Happy, Happy is about a perfect housewife whose rocky, sexless marriage sends her next door to explore sexual fulfilment. The film stars Agnes Kittelsen (Max Manus [+see also:

), was produced by Synnøve Hørsdal for Maipo Film and is handled internationally by TrustNordisk. It is currently competing for the Best Nordic Film Award at the Göteborg International Film Festival, which kicked off last Friday.

(formerly known as Jørgen + Anne), has been selected in the Berlinale Generation KPlus programme. World sales are handled by Svensk Filmindustri.
