The Script Development Workshop for Documentaries, the first workshop of the East European Film Alliance (EEFA) Training Network 2011, took place in Zagreb, Croatia from March 3-7.

EEFA 2011 Head of Studies Catherine Buresi, documentary experts Jacques Laurent and Dorota Roszkowska, Croatian Audiovisual Centre head (HAVC) Hvroje Hribar and several other well-established experts held discussions with the participants in their areas of choice regarding documentary script development.

Participants had the opportunity to examine concrete details about their projects with trainers, with representatives from each country and in individual meetings. Evenings were dedicated to the screening of the participants’ current works, or of the new documentaries being shown in the ZagrebDox International Documentary Film Festival.

Workshop attendance exceeded expectations with Croatian producer Dijana Mladenovic and Bulgarian producer Pravda Kirova even coming at their own expense to support their colleagues.

EEFA’s upcoming Script Development for Fiction Workshop will take place in June in Sofia, Bulgaria, with Buresi, content expert Christian Routh and visiting or local experts.

EEFA is a consortium of eleven countries coordinated by the Romanian Film Sector (RFS). The initiative is supported by Media Mundus along with several other partners.
