film profile] star Michael Fassbender is all set to play one of the leads in Good Vibrations, based on the true story of Belfast punk impresario Terri Hooley.
Fassbender’s Hunger co-star Liam Cunningham is also in the cast. It is expected that Richard Dormer (Five Minutes of Heaven [+see also:

film profile]) will play Hooley’s role.
Andrew Eaton (The Killer Inside Me [+see also:

film profile]) will executive produce and Chris Martin will produce. The film received funding from the Northern Island Screen Fund supported by Invest NI and part funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the Irish Film Board.
Husband and wife team Glen Leyburn and Lisa Barros D’Sa (Cherrybomb) will direct from a script by Glenn Patterson and Colin Carberry. Principal photography is due to commence at Belfast locations in August.
Good Vibrations is one of a raft of films shooting in Northern Ireland this year, with the others including Terry George’s Whole Lotta Sole and Kieron J Walsh’s Jump (see news).
