Metrodome hires new MD

by

The Metrodome Group, the UK independent distribution company has appointed a new Managing Director, Andrew Keyte, who joined the company last Monday.
Keyne has been running his own media consultancy firm Garageland Pictures since 1999, working for Sky, Vestry Media and most recently Metro-Tartan Video. Before that, he was general-manager for BskyB’s movie channels, helping the satellite TV launch its pay-per-view service and its production arm, Sky Pictures.
Commenting on his new position Keyte said: “This is a really exciting time for me to be joining Metrodome, just as it has marketed Donnie Darko (£1.5m – Euros2.25m - at the 2002 UK B.O. – editor’s note) to become one of the biggest cult film hits of recent years. With the backing of major shareholder TV Loonland, I am looking forward to taking the company forward and working with its talent team to create a dynamic and expanding business in feature film distribution, kids video and other areas”.
Metrodome is listed on the UK stock exchange and 54 per cent of it is owned by German group TV Loonland (Yvon of The Yukon).
The UK distribution company is a keen buyer of Scandinavian films, having previously released Pusher and Bleeder, 101 Reykjavik, Help I’m a Fish and Together. The company’s 2003 release schedule includes Lukas Moodysson’s Lilja4-Ever [+see also:
