The best of recent Italian production is California-bound and ready to conquer the American Film Market in Santa Monica from 19-26 February. The AFM is the world’s most important film showcase and it attracts industry operators from all five continents. Every year deals worth over $500m (Euros500m) . Italy’s leading industry associations: ICE, Cinecittà Holding, Italia Cinema and Anica all sent delegations to AFM.
Italy has always enjoyed a privileged position at the AFM, and several leading film exporters are amongst AFM members, including Adriana Chiesa Enterprises, Filmexport, Intramovies) and Italian films occupy 10 per cent of AFM screens (60 screenings of the 2003 total of 600 are Italian). The films that are premiering at this year’s edition include Perlasca by Alberto Negrin ( with Rai Trade handling worldwide sales), The Legend Of Al, John and Jack [+see also:
