by Gabriele Muccino is still top of the Italian box office, with a reported weekend take of Euros2.151m that brings its gross to Euros6.265m. The Italian stood up to a three-pronged US assault by high-impact new entries The Ring by Gore Verbinski (2nd position and the weekend’s highest per-screen average: Euros8,549,000), Rob Marshall’s musical Chicago (3rd) and I Spy starring Eddie Murphy (8th). Two Weeks Notice dropped two places to 4th, followed by About Schmidt in 5th. Steven Spielberg’s Catch Me If You Can slipped to 6th position with The Lord of the Rings – The Two Towers in 7th. Bringing up the rear are Gangs of New York (9) and the second Italian title in the top ten, Prendimi l’anima [+see also:
