It is no surprise that Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 [+see also:

film profile] held the previous record taking £18.32 million in its opening weekend. Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince [+see also:

film profile] took £19.78 million, but that was over five days, including two days of previews. The biggest three-day weekend opening for a non Harry Potter film is another British icon, James Bond, with Quantum of Solace [+see also:

The Harry Potter franchise is a co-production between British companies Heyday Films and the Moving Picture Company and US studio Warner Bros.
