Five films receive backing from Netherlands Film Fund
The Netherlands Film Fund announced the recipients of its latest round of funding last week. A total of over €2.5m will be split between five productions.
Dutch actor-writer-director Alex van Warmerdam (The Waiter [+see also:

film profile], The Last Days of Emma Blank) received €750,000 for his latest project, Camiel Borgman. Graniet Film, a black comedy, was earlier selected for the Cinemart of the International Film Festival Rotterdam and will be co-produced by Belgian outfit Epidemic BVBA and the Danes of Det Danske Filmstudie.
Alles is familie (Family Is All) from director Joram Lürsen has received €550,000. The film is a follow-up to the 2007 romantic comedy-drama Alles is liefde [+see also:

film profile], which was also directed by Lürsen. That film made almost €10m and was successfully remade in Flanders. IDTV Film are the main producers, Eyeworks Film Gemini GmbH Belgium co-produces.
The first film The Sky Above Us looks at the 1999 NATO bombings of Belgrade from the perspective of several different characters. Marinus Groothof will direct for IDTV Film and Lev Pictures. The project, which won the Kodak Netherlands Production Platform Prize last year, received €500,000 from the Netherlands Film Fund.
Popular Dutch director Dick Maas (Saint), received €400,000 for his latest project, Para. The action comedy revolves around a mousey single hairdresser who doubles as a secret agent, and whose life is turned upside down when she has to take care of her nephew. Tom De Mol Productions and Parachute Pictures produce.
The last project to receive funding is Mees Kees, a family film from Barbara Bredero about a boy and his relationship with a newly arrived teacher at school. The PV Pictures production received €369.000.
