Hobert returns with a One-Way to Antibes, with a stop-over in Haugesund
Shot in Luleå (northern Sweden) and Antibes (southern France), Swedish writer-director Richard Hobert’s One-Way to Antibes will screen in the Norwegian International Film Festival at Haugesund between August 17-26, before the domestic release by Svensk Filmindustri AB on September 30.
Hobert’s first feature after five years working in the theatre staging his own play, Security, at Stockholm’s Royal Theatre, Dramaten, One-Way to Antibes stars Swedish actor-singer Sven-Bertil Taube in a tragi-comic family drama.Taube plays George, a half-blind widower who learns that his children (Malin Morgan, Dan Ekborg) are planning to get their hands on his assets before he dies. Catching his home help (Rebecca Ferguson) red-handed stealing from him, he forces her to help him launch a counter-attack.
Photographed by Jens Fischer from Hobert’s original screenplay, the film is produced by Håkon Bjerking for Sweden’s Eyefeed AB in collaboration with Cimbria Film, Swedish regional film centre, Filmpool Nord AB, and Swedish public broadcaster SVT.
Most recently Hobert, who received the Ingmar Bergman Award in 1995, directed Harry’s Daughters (2005) for the screen; his 18 film credits also include the award-winning Everyone Loves Alice (2002). International sales for One-Way to Antibes will be handled by Sweden’s The Yellow Affair.
