FFA publishes report on subsidies granted in 2010

The German film regulating body FFA has published its 2010 report. Between January and December, the institution shelled out €17.6m (compared to €15.5m in 2009) to support the production of 59 features (i.e. 10 more than the previous year). At the same time, about €12m in automatic funding (compared to €10m in 2009) was allocated to the producers of 98 films (compared to 107).

Film distribution funding fell slightly. €15.1m (€18.7m in 2009) went to distributors, and €8.9m (compared to €12.7m) towards media campaigns for film launches on different formats.

We should also mention the subsidies granted as part of the Franco-German co-production agreement, which amounted to €1.5m, like the previous year.

The FFA also backed exhibitors to the tune of €7.7m (€5.3m in 2009) and video library programmers and managers to the tune of €7.9m (compared to €7.1m).
