Cinecittà Luce and Telecom Italia deal: 150 pay-per-view titles on Cubovision

150 titles from film to documentaries in pay-per-view and over 200 video productions are now available for free on Cubovision®, on web TV and on Telecom Italia's IPTV.

The agreement between Cinecittà Luce and Telecom Italia was signed during the 68th Venice Film Festival with the aim of accelerating and improving the process of conservation and digitization of the Istituto Luce's Historical Archive, which represents one of the main heritages of Italian culture, making it available to the public through new means of broadcasting, such as the web.

Among the first titles announced are some works that featured at the Venice Film Festival: Nel nome del padre by Marco Bellocchio, in the director's new edition following him receiving the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement, 40 years after it first came out, India by Roberto Rossellini in the version as restored by the Cineteca di Bologna, Pasta nera by Alessandro Piva and El campo by Hernàn Belòn.

"The agreement between Cinecittà Luce and Telecom, which not only foresees safeguarding the great archive but also the acquisition and distribution of certain films, gives me concrete hope that not everything is lost...that in Italy there exists a sensibility that goes beyond the respectable rules of profit and return", Bellocchio told Cineuropa.
