The Mar del Plata selection

- German films and co-productions screening at Argentinean Festival include Caroline Link's Nowhere in Africa

A selection of recent German films (and German co-productions) were selected to take part in the various sections of the 18th International Festival of Mar del Plata (6-15 March 2003) in Argentina.
One German film, Über Nacht – Overnight, Horst Krassa’s directorial feature debut will take part in the official competition.
A sidebar event called La Mujer y el Cine - Women in Films will showcase three German films (or German co-productions) by women directors: Nowhere in Africa [+see also:

(nominated for a best foreign film Oscar), Julies Rueckkehr - Julie Walking Home by Agnieszka Holland and Francisca (...¿de qué lado estás?) by Eva López Sánchez.
Documentary Frame includes two German documentaries, Essen Schalfen, keine frauen by Heine Stadler and Volver a verros by Paula Rodriguez (Germany/Chile).
Three graduation films, two shorts and a documentary, by Spanish students of the German Cinema and Television Academy in Berlin will be screened in a section called Scenes to Come: Dortoka Uhartea by Maru Solores, El conde ingles by Clara Lòpez Rubio and Pinochet’s Kinder by Paula Rodriguez.
