After 311,000 join The Reunion, Denmark boasts four local hit films
After five weeks in the charts, Danish director Niels Nørløv’s comedy The Reunion [+see also:

film profile] (pictured) has exceeded 311,000 admissions, to become the fourth local feature this year to qualify as a box office hit.
A Tomas Radoor and René Ezra production for Nordisk Film, Nørløv’s second feature stars Anders W. Berthelsen, Troels Lyby and Nicolaj Kopernikus as three friends who join a high-school reunion, only to discover that everything is not what it once was.

film profile], Nørløv directed television series including 2900 Happiness for Danish commercial broadcaster TV3. The Reunion was scripted by Lars Mering and Claudia Boderke.
According to the Danish Film Institute, the annual average of domestic releases that break the 300,000 barrier is three; adding to the four in 2011 is Mikkel Nørgaard’s 2010 opener, Clown - The Movie [+see also:

Launched on August 25 and still running, Martin Zandvliet’s biopic of Danish legendary comedian Dirch Passer, A Funny Man [+see also:

film profile], with Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Lars Ranthe: the Mikael Chr Rieks production for Koncern Film/Nordisk Film has so far sold 478,000 tickets.
After four installments of the Father of Four franchise have reached a 1.7 million audience, Claus Bjerre’s fifth outing, Father of Four - Back to Nature [+see also:

film profile], keeps up the pace: the Henrik Møller-Sørensen production for ASA Film has drummed up 387,000 admissions since October 6.
An early 2011 premiere (February 10), Rasmus Heide’s All for One, with Dutch-American Rutger Hauer in the cast, concluded this year’s domestic crowd-pleasers; Ronnie Fridthjof produced the Danish Ocean’s Eleven comedy for Fridthjof Film to register 379,000 spectators.
”Business is booming in Danish theatres,” reported Danske Biografer of the Danish Cinemas Association, which has sold 10.7 million tickets between January 1-November 1, which is 300,000 more than last year.
