A fetching line-up of German documentaries at One World

- A bastion of coproductions represents Germany at the 2012 One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival in Prague

The One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival (March 6-15) is in full swing in Prague, and this year has shown a great selection of German documentaries, especially co-productions.

The festival’s Panorama section notably features three co-productions by German production company Majade: Bakhmaro by Georgian filmmaker Salome Jashi, Skydancer (photo) by the German expert in American themes Katja Esson, and Vivan las Antípodas! [+see also:

by Victor Kossakovsky, coproduced with the Netherlands, Argentina and Chile. In the same section are also German-Swiss co-production The Substance – Albert Hofmann's LSD [+see also:

Another party Swiss documentary is part of the festival’s Right to Know section: Carte Blanche by Heidi Specogna, co-produced by the filmmaker via German production company Specogna Film. In the So-called Civilisation section are showing Taste the Waste by Valentin Thurn (a Thurnfilm production) and The Magical Journey of the Useless Things by Katja Schupp, co-produced by Lichtfilm with Poland.

The festival’s With or Without You section includes No Entry no Exit by Jule Kreuzer and Mareille Klein (Kokon Film) and the co-production Hitler's Children by Israeli filmmaker Chanoch Zeevi, while Youth Quake is screening Radioactivists – Protests in Japan Since Fukushima by Julia Leser and Clarissa Seidel (ginger and blonde productions). i>Fliehkraft, a short film by Marie Elisa Scheidt and Alexandra Wesolowski, completes the selection.
