Cineuropa is back in Cannes!

- After a successful restyling of the site just before the 2011 Cannes Film Festival, Cineuropa is back at the Croisette with a stronger presence.

After a successful restyling of the site just before the 2011 Cannes Film Festival, Cineuropa is back at the Croisette with a stronger presence, with several seminars and workshops being organised by Cineuropa’s team. As member of the consortium that manages the Euromed Audiovisual Programme of the European Commission, Cineuropa will be part of the presentation of the Programme’s results, a special event organised for 21 May at the Pavillon Cinémas du Monde.

Cineuropa will be present during the whole Festival at the European Producers Villa. Cineuropa offers free space and free WiFi to all our readers! You just need to send us an email to caruso@cineuropa.org with your name, profession, company and country.

Speakers:

Tero Kaukomaa established his company Blind Spot Pictures in 1997. Ever since, he has produced and co-produced more than 15 feature films on several continents. He is the producer of Iron Sky [+see also:

, a $11 million sci-fi comedy developed, produced and launched through Crowd Funding. The movie has already made more than € 300,000 and created a community of more than 3,000 people around the word.

Thierry Baujard is the founder and CEO of Peacefulfish, a company specialised in developing financing strategies for producers and funds involving private and public investment. Peacefulfish is also involved in the management of the MEDIA Production Guarantee Fund managed by Audiovisual SGR and aimed at facilitating access to private sources of financing for SMEs and guaranteeing part of the loans granted by financial institutions to film producers. Thierry is the author of studies realised for the European Commission about private funding and banking for the audiovisual sector. He is also the chairman of the European Media Investment Network 'Media Deals', which provide access to private investment for Mediatech companies.

Matthias Lavaux, is co-founder of touscoprod.com, a Crowd Funding site specialised in cinema projects. Since its launch in 2009, Touscoprod has assembled some 20,000 members that invested more than €800,000 on 30 movies, documentaries and short films. Among these, three movies have been in competition in Cannes, three have been nominated for the Oscars and one obtained the GoldenBear in Berlin.

Roel van de Weijer is an expert in the field of marketing and Crowd Funding. He is CEO of CineCrowd, the crowdfunding platform for Dutch cinema and he advises film producers on funding and promotion. He regularly gives workshops and lectures. Within a year, more than 18 films were produced.
