Fieber and Der Bau backed by Luxembourg Film Fund

- The Luxembourg Film Fund announced its latest round of funding earlier this month.

The Luxembourg Film Fund announced its latest round of funding for projects in various stages of development earlier this month. A total of €2,369,557 was awarded to three films in the writing phase and four films in production.

The biggest amount for a film in development, €60,000, went to A True Leap, a documentary feature by several directors that will be produced by Juliette Films and its sister company, Juliette Films France.

won the Lëtzebuerger Filmpräis for Best Feature recently, was awarded €50,000.

The film will be produced by Iris Production S.A., which is also behind Amok, a fiction feature by producer and occasional director Donato Rotunno (In a Dark Place...), who received €20,000 in development aid.

Two short projects received production funding and both films are from debuting directors, Oliver Koos and Julien Becker.

Two feature films also received production aid. The first, Fieber, is a co-production with Austria from director Elfi Mikesch (Mondo Lux), that Minotaurus Film will co-produce with Amour Fou Filmproduktion and Filmsyndikat UG. The film received €891,557.

The largest amount in this round of funding went to Der Bau, a co-production by Deal Productions and the German outfit Mephisto Film that Jochen Freydank will direct. The film received €1,228,000.
