French cinema is on display in New York. The 8th “Rendez-Vous with French Cinema”, organized by Unifrance and the Lincoln Center Film Society, will be held from 7 – 16 March.
14 French films, as yet unreleased in the United States, will be screened at the Walter Reade Theater in the presence of their directors: the titles include films of proven calibre such as Michel Blanc’s Embrassez Qui Vous Voudrez, L’adversaire by Nicole Garcia starring Daniel Auteuil, Une femme de ménage by Claude Berri and Adolphe by Benoît Jacquot with Isabelle Adjani, and also works by well-known writers such as Raymond Depardon (Un homme sans l'occident), Olivier Assayas (Demonlover) e Jeanne Lebrune (C'est le bouquet). The New York event also offers the opportunity of an American showcase for the work of young French talent: eyes will be on Guillaume Canet (Mon Idole), Marina De Van (Dans ma peau), Jean-Pierre Sinapi (Vivre me tue), Julie Lopes Curval (Bord de mer), Laurent Bouhnik (24 heures de la vie d'une femme), Valérie Guignabodet (Monique) and Delphine Gleize (Carnages). The exhibition will also host a tribute to Jeanne Moreau and a Claude Berri retrospective.
