14/06/2012 - Jim Broadbent to Chair Michael Powell jury

After a year’s absence, awards return to the Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF). Eminent actor Jim Broadbent (pictured) will be Chair of 2012’s three-member Michael Powell Award Competition jury that also includes Japanese actress and producer Kiki Sugino (Hospitalité) and Tiina Lokk, director of the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. The jury will present awards for Best British Feature Film and Best Performance in a British Feature Film.

Broadbent said, “I relish the opportunity to see such a great range of films in such special company.”

The nominees are: Peter Strickland’s Berberian Sound Studio; John Roberts’ Day of the Flowers; Katarzyna Klimkiewicz’s Flying Bind; Maja Borg’s Future My Love; Bart Layton’s The Imposter; Alex Barrett’s Life Just Is; Penny Woolcock’s One Mile Away; Luis Prieto’s Pusher; James Marsh’s Shadow Dancer [+see also:

Actor Elliot Gould will chair the International Feature Competition jury that also includes former Karlovy Vary International Film Festival Programme Director Julietta Sichel and filmmaker Lav Diaz.
