23/07/2012 - Attendance figures in Spanish cinemas which saw a downward trend in 2011 worsened in the first quarter of 2012

With greater delay than usual, perhaps due to successive difficulties in recent months, l'ICAA-Institutode la Cinematografía y las Artes Audiovisuales published definitive and official results of the production, distribution and exploration sectors in 2011.

There is no great surprise compared to figures presented in January by companies such as Rentrak (see article). In 2011, Spanish productions and co-productions earned receipts of €99,137,000m for 15.52 million cinemagoers. These results represent an improvement compared to the deplorable level in 2010 (one of the worst in the last ten years), which was €80.27m for 12.92 million admissions.
