Germany and Switzerland welcome Italian Cinema from September to December

- The 14th edition of the Cinema!Italia! Festival will be held in 34 cities with recently produced films specially subtitled in German. The public’s favorite will be distributed by Kairos

A double date beyond the Alps with Italian cinema: this is what the association Made in Italy is offering this autumn after the success of the festival Nuovo Cinema Italia that took place last June and July in Austria with screenings in Vienna, Innsbruck and Graz.

From the 6th of September to the 19th of December 2012 the 14th edition of the Cinema!Italia! festival will take place. A promotional tour for Italian cinema in Germany organized annually by Made in Italy with the contribution of the Minister for Heritage and Cultural Activity and the support of the ICE (National Institute for External Commerce) of Kairos Filmverleih, a distribution company whose seat is in Gottingen.

The tour will go through 27 cities, including Munich, Cologne, Lübeck, Bremen, Bonn, Leipzig, Dresden, Hannover, Kassel, Stuttgart, Freiburg, Regensburg, Essen, Heidelberg and Darmstadt to finish in Berlin. The program includes six recently produced films that are specially subtitled in German for the occasion: Basilicata Coast to Coast [+see also:

by Francesco Bruni. Some cities will welcome the film’s director and principal actors, Francesco Bruni will be the first to present his film in Hamburg.

Just like the previous years, the festival is connected to a contest; each spectator will receive a card to express his or her opinion. The film that receives the most appraisal will be awarded in Berlin at the end of the event and will be distributed in Germany through an agreement made between Kairos Filmverleih and Made in Italy, who will contribute to the press and subtitling of the film.

In Switzerland the Italian Cinema festival that Made in Italy is organizing together with Cinélibre, the association of Swiss cine-clubs, will take place starting from the 24th of September. The festival will take place in Basil, Biel, Lucerne, Solothurn, St. Gallen, Winterthur and Zurich and comprises four films, all screened with German subtitles: Happy Family [+see also:
