NFF supports Olsen Gang film

The Olsen Gang In the Air, the new instalment of the successful Olsen Gang series, is among five feature films part of the Norwegian Film Fund’s last round of support.

Like The Olsen Gang Jr Under Water which is currently boasting record admissions in Norway (over 252,000 in a month), The Olsen Gang in The Air is written/directed by Arne Lindtner Næss for Nordisk Film Norway’s Rune H. Throndsen. The family film set for a 6 February 2004 release through Egmont Columbia Tristar, received half of its NKr 18m (Euros 2,3m) budget from the Norwegian Film Fund (NFF).

Kvinnen I mitt liv (The Woman in My Life) produced by veteran producer John M. Jacobsen (Pathfinder) for his company Filmkameratene was awarded NKr 8.8m (Euros1,3m) towards its NKr 17.6m (Euros2,2 m)budget. The first Norwegian romantic comedy in the Four Weddings And a Funeral vein will be directed by Alexander Eik, and an autumn release has been pencilled by SF Norge.
Ikke Naken will be the second feature film from writer/director Torun Lian (Move The Stars). The romantic comedy produced by Painswick Film in association with Svensk Filmindustri, was granted Nkr 9.8m (Euros1,2 m) towards its Nkr 17.4m (Euros2,2 m) budget, and will be released locally by SF Norge next September.

The two other films supported by the NFF were both co-produced by Paradox Spillefilm in Norway and Angel Production in Denmark:
Erich Hörtnagel’s Den som frykter Ulven, based on Karin Fossum’s best selling-novel, will star Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen (). The Nkr 22m (Euros 2,8 m) psychological thriller received Nkr 9m from the NFF and is set for an April 2004 release through Scandox. Finally Hawaii, part of director Erik Poppe’s ‘Oslo-Trilogy’, was awarded Nkr8.5m towards its Nkr18m budget. Also co-produced by Swedish FilmHaus Lagnö, the film will be distributed in Norway by Oro Film in March 2004.
