Dutch features allocated funding

- Two Dutch features receive Eurimages funding while three others receive backing from Netherlands Film Fund

Five Dutch films received funding from two sources earlier this month.

The largest single recipient is Kenau from director Maarten Treurniet (photo - The Heineken Kidnapping). The film is a Dutch-Hungarian-Belgian co-production written by Marnie Blok and Karen van Holst Pellekaan that involves Amsterdam-based Fu Works as well as IM Films and Prime Time. It received €600,000 in Eurimages funding.

Another Dutch feature received Eurimages backing: Land from writer-director Jan-Willem van Ewijk received a total of €230,000 in European funding. The film, which is currently being shot in Morocco, was co-written by Abdelhadi Samih and is a co-production with Belgium (Man's Film Productions), Germany (Endorphine Production) and Morocco (Agora Film).

Another Dutch feature received Eurimages backing earlier this year: Boven is het Stil, the latest film by filmmaker Nanouk Leopold (Brownian Movement [+see also:

Local funding from the Netherlands Film Fund was awarded to three features: Loenatik, de Reünie (Loenatik: The Reunion); Spijt (“Regret”) and Tussen 10.00 en 12.00 (Between 10 and 12).

Loenatik, de Reünie received a €260,000 production grant for director Johan Timmers, who will direct the second Loenatik film, which is based on a popular TV series about the inhabitants of a mad house. Topkapi Films and The Storytellers are producing.

Director Dave Schram received €450,000 for Spijt, his latest adaptation of a Carry Slee novel, again for children. His company Shooting Star Film produces. Schram's wife and fellow producer, Maria Peters, will again co-write the screenplay.

Lastly, a production grant of €350,000 was awarded to Tussen 10.00 en 12.00, the directorial debut of writer-director Peter Hoogendoorn. The project is produced by Phanta Vision Film international and Keren Cogan Films.
