From December 3 to 6, Liège will host 3D Stereo MEDIA, the European Stereo 3D Summit on Science, Technology and Digital Art, to favour interactions between 3D artists, scientists, engineers and businessmen. This ambitious event’s busy programme includes conferences, workshops, and training, as well as a festival and a film market. The Professional Conference is this year to welcome about 40 international speakers, as well as three prestigious representatives of Hollywood 3D cinema: Chuck Comisky (Avatar), Buzz Hays (Beowulf), Robert Neuman (The Lion King). Apart from this programme of professional and scientific conferences, 3D Stereo MEDIA has also set up a training event for 3D film directors and graduate students.

For the fourth year, it is also to host the 3D Film Festival for which Belgian 3D personality Ben Stassen is again to preside the jury. This year, the festival’s organisers selected 20 S-3D films from over 60 submissions for its six categories.

The 3D Film Mart, developed by TWIST and peacefulfish, is also to take place. It is co-funded by the Wallonia region and by the European Commission’s MEDIA programme, which gives it great visibility and important renown in Europe and beyond. For this second edition, the jury selected 20 to be presented to a panel de 11 investors (commercial agents, distributors, financiers, etc.). Producers and investors will be able to interact during pitching sessions and one-to-one meetings.

Finally, 3D Stereo MEDIA was chosen by the International 3D Society (I3DS, Hollywood, California) to jointly organise the 3D Creative Arts Awards for Europe. These awards are to reward the best film and television 3D productions in Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.
