Soldier Nathan Rijckx is dead. His shadow is held hostage by a strange collector who has given him a second chance: his life against 10,000 captured shadows. Nathan has already captured 9,998 shadows. He wants to reach his goal for love, of course, for the sole purpose of again seeing Sarah, the woman with whom he has fallen in love.

The award makes it one of 11 shorts pre-selected for the Oscars, as just announced by the Academy. Its win in Valladolid has also catapulted it into the competition at the next European Film Awards.
