Eurimages shares out €5.87m among 17 co-productions

At its last session to allocate aid to co-production this year (the next is to be held in Dresde in mid-March), the Council of Europe's Eurimagesfund has allocated €5.87m in total to 17 co-productions, of which eight titles with German participation, and the same number for France.

The project to receive the most (€650,000) is Xavier Beauvois' La Rançon de la gloire, co-produced by French production company Why not productions (67%) with Rita Productions (Switzerland) and Les Films du Fleuve (Belgium). Italian director Paolo Virzi as well as German directors Wim Wenders (photo) and Wolfgang Becker received €600,000, respectively for Human Capital, to combine the efforts of Indiana Production (Italy) and Manny Films (France), for Everything Will Be Fine, co-produced by Neue Road Movies (80%) with Swedish company Götafilm, and for Ich und Kaminski, co-produced by X Filme Creative Pool (80%) with Belgian company Esterhazy & Dienst.

French filmmaker Pascal Morelli was allocated €550,000 for Le Prince et les 108 démons, Belgian director Benoît Mariage is to receive €530,000 for Akwaba, Hungarian visionary Kornél Mundruczo was allocated €340,000 for White God, co-produced by Proton Cinemawith Pola Pandora (Germany) and Chimney Pot (Sweden), and Icelandic filmmaker Dagur Kari Petursson is to receive €320,000 forRocketman, co-produced by Blue Eyes with Danish production company Nimbus Film Production.

Other Eurimages funding beneficiaries include Yannis Economides for The Six-Fingered Man (€250,000), to be co-produced byArgonauts Productions (Greece), The Match Factory Prod. (Germany), and the director's Cypriot production company. As for Polish maestroAndrzej Wajda, he is preparing And There Was Love In The Ghetto, co-directed by Jolanta Dylewska and co-produced by Otter Films with German production company Pallas Films.
