- Marco Bonfanti’s documentary sold by New York-based Visit Films awaits its Italian release in March with the Luce Cinecittà Institute

A flock of sheep in the Duomo square in Milan. The news story spun the world, from the Washington Post to Argentina’s Liberal. The scene was the last from Marco Bonfanti’s debut film  The Last Shepherd, the incredible story of Renato Zucchelli, the last nomad shepherd in a city conquered with the unique force of his imagination.

The world premiere of the documentary took place at the Tokyo International Film Festival where the film attracted a record audience turnout and regional news coverage described it as “the festival’s jewel.” Selected for the Dubai International Film Festival in the Cinema of the World section as the only Italian choice together with Bernardo Bertolucci’s Me and You, it was also presented in Turin this November.
