SND launches pre-sales of Yves Saint-Laurent

After Coco Chanel in 2009 and La guerre des boutons in 2011, a new subject lies at the heart of a fratricidal war within the French cinema industry: two projects about the life of the renowned French designer Yves Saint-Laurent (photo). Following the announcement in Cannes of Bertrand Bonello's Saint-Laurent (produced by Mandarin Cinéma and sold by Films Distribution) with Gaspard Ulliel in the title role, the French international sales company SND will be launching pre-sales of Yves Saint-Laurent by Jalil Lespert (24 mesures [+see also:

With a screenplay written by the director and Marie-Pierre Huster, the project, piloted by WY Productions, will feature Pierre Niney (nominated for the César 2013 for Best Male Newcomer Comme des frères [+see also:

SND’s line-up also includes Nicolas Birkenstock's first feature film, in post-production, Picking Up The Pieces (article) with Philippe Torreton and Lola Dueñas.

In Berlin, Lionel Uzan’s team will also pre-sell two animated films currently in production: Aunt Hilda (news) from the Benoît ChieuxJacques-Rémy Girerd duo (Raining Cats and Dogs, Mia et le Migou [+see also:

) and My Mommy Is In America and She Met Buffalo Bill by Marc Boreal.

A final word on promo-reels for two titles in post-production: Julien Leclercq's thriller The Informant (with Gilles Lellouche, Tahar Rahim and Italian actor Riccardo Scamarcio), and the comedy Love Punch by Joel Hopkins (with Pierce Brosnan and Emma Thompson). At the EFM, SND will also show 10 animatic minutes from the animated 3D project Asterix: The Land of Gods by the Alexandre Astier – Lionel Clichy duo and continue its pre-sales of the horror thriller in pre-production Among the Living (news) by Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo.
