Written by the director with Cédric Anger (Le Tueur [+see also:

), the screenplay focuses on Alex, an Algerian-born Frenchman and gang-leader in Marseille, who enlists in the Foreign Legion to escape a settling of scores with the Corsican mafia. Four years later, he defects and returns to Marseilles to find Katia, his childhood love. But power struggles in the town have changed: his father has left the business, leaving the Corsicans and the gangs from the northern neighbourhoods to share their control over the city. Alex’s determination will upset this fragile balance, putting his family at risk...

Produced by Marie Masmonteil and Denis Carot for Elzevir Films (which already produced the filmmaker’s first feature film), De guerre lasse has been pre-purchased by Canal+ and Ciné+. Funded by the Paca region and Sofica Cofinova, the filming will last 38 days. French distribution and international sales will be handled by SND.
