05/03/2013 - Second edition of festival to feature performance and film by Germany based musician

The Sundance Institute has announced that Peaches will be the first headlining act for the second Sundance London Film and Music Festival (April 25-28), which will also host the UK premiere of the electro rock opera Peaches Does Herself [+see also:

film profile]. Peaches is a Canadian musician, DJ, producer and filmmaker based in Berlin. The Teaches Of Peaches was her breakthrough album, followed by Fatherfucker, Impeach My Bush and I Feel Cream. She is known for her suggestive lyrics that bring the sexual and political into pop territory.

Peaches Does Herself is directed and written by Peaches and produced by Germany’s I U She Productions. In the film, Peaches follows the advice of an old stripper and makes sexually forthright music. The film stars Peaches, Danni Daniels, Sandy Kane, Mignon, Sweet Machine Band and Jolly Goods.

Peaches said, “I am totally thrilled to be selected for Sundance London, and to bring my live show to town in conjunction with the screening. Peaches Does Herself digs deeper into what I stand for as an artist while exploring the images and misconceptions surrounding my work. It’s been awhile since I've performed in London. I always love London's live energy!”

The full programme for this year’s Sundance London will be announced in March. London’s The O2 is the partner venue.
